Eufy Home Security System – the Best Security Cameras you can Get!

Eufy offers an assortment of smart home security products for its customers. The brand has made its own place in almost every niche of home security products and won quite a few loyal hearts in the process!

I won’t say that other key players in the home security industry don’t match Eufy’s level of quality, but Eufy consistently beats out the competition when it comes to usability, functionality, and their price point.

Although Eufy is a comparatively new brand in the mature market of smart home security products, it has not disappointed any customer who took the plunge because they didn’t want to put a dent on their pockets by investing in an inexpensive brand.

Eufy Security System Review

Although I am a 100% satisfied Eufy home security products user myself, I’d like to share this testimonial of a Eufy client home security product user which reflects exactly how I feel:

“I bought this system to extend my Ring home security system I had for years. This system along with two Contact Sensors. The cost of the Eufy system for monitoring is $0 comparing $99 annual contract from Ring. The system comes packaged nice a secure, which I am thankful for since the delivery person wasn't gentle dropping the box on my porch. I had downloaded the app and registered before the system arrived, so that part was taken care of. The included instructions and phone app walk you through the setup. It was painless and completed in about 10 minutes. I set up everything on my dining room table to go through the registration process. Once done, I installed the components where the old hardware was. Eufy security system includes everything you need to mount (double sided tape and/or screws) all the components. Registering for monitoring was very simple too. One thing I learned that I want to pass on.

The app could use some tweaks to guide you customize your notifications a little more and tweak the contact choices, but overall, I'm satisfied.

I was looking at the competitor’s system like Nest and Arlo, but this is a better value, no subscription fee.

Final verdict, smart home security system is a relatively mature market. I decide to give new brand a try for the sake of economic consideration & I am not disappointed at all.”

Well, I understand that one random review won’t convince you enough to put your trust in Eufy’s home security products. Therefore, let’s also have a look at what professional reviewers have to say about Eufy’s products:

Our friends at Security Nerd have rated Eufy home security cameras a 4 out of 5. They are huge fans of their 365 days battery life. Moreover, they’re impressed with the ergonomics of these cameras and think that the Eufy app is quite intuitive i.e., its easy to navigate through it and the functions offered in it are a lot. However, they didn’t rate Eufy cameras 5/5 because of their limited home integration i.e., they only integrate with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit.

Now that I’ve set the stage for you guys, let’s get on with which Eufy home security products I use and why I think they’re the best in the market. Without further ado, let’s dig right in:

Eufy Home Security Products

The plethora of products that Eufy offers to cater to the needs of different target audiences is crazy and fit budgets of all sizes. All of its products are packed with features, super user friendly, and a treat for those who wish to install and monitor their security cameras on their own!

EufyCam 2 Pro

I personally own quite a few Eufy home security products and my experience so far has been great. Let’s start with the EufyCam 2 pro. This camera is packed with all the top-notch features I could ask for and does a great job as your personal cctv camera!

Compared to the Arlo Pro 2 and the Wyze outdoor camera, this is a much better buy and I’ll tell you why:

My personal favorite feature is the 2K resolution. This makes the camera’s video quality to die for both during the day and night thanks to its advanced night vision feature! The camera is designed to absorb maximum night during night-time and its F2.0 aperture lens combined with a high photosensitivity sensor helps it achieve this objective.

However, you do need a HomeBase to operate this Wi-Fi enabled camera! HomeBase acts as a Wi-Fi booster and enhances Wi-Fi signals enough for them to reach the camera which are almost always installed in the outskirts of your house away from the router!

Additionally, the EufyCam 2 Pro boasts a 6-months battery life on just one charge, 135-degree field of view, and an IP (Ingress Protection) 67 rating! This means that its weatherproof i.e., the camera protects dust from entering its housing and can remain submerged in 1m water while maintaining its functionality for half hour. Therefore, you don’t have to worry about heavy rain during a storm ruining your best home security system components.

Lastly, the camera’s object and human detection and distinction is outclassed. It has worked great for me and is definitely better than most of the more expensive alternatives available!

Eufy Floodlight Cam 2

Apart from the EufyCam 2 Pro, I also have 3 of the Eufy Floodlight Cam 2 for enhanced security and have been running them for about 3 years.

Let me tell you this is the best product Eufy makes. This hybrid video floodlight camera performs tremendously for its price. Initially I wanted to invest in the ring floodlight camera, but then I somehow got this one! Best choice ever.

Firstly, its different from traditional floodlights which usually offer limited functionality. Contrary to those, the Eufy Floodlight Cam 2 is loaded! It is packed with a two-way audio feature, the surveillance feature, live-streaming feature, and the ability to record videos in 2K quality. Needless to mention, it comes with an IP65 weatherproof rating and is able to withstand harsh storms, rain, or dusty summers.

In addition to this, it legit turns night into day. We all know why intruders love the night! The minimum visibility gives them leverage. However, the Eufy Floodlight Cam 2 boasts a 2500-lumen extremely bright floodlights which are activated by motion. As soon as the camera’s sophisticated AI algorithm detects a human shape or motion, the floodlights are activated and so is the camera’s smart siren.

This all works great the scare off any intruder! Additionally, this Eufy Floodlight Cam 2 records a full color high-quality video even at night. So, you’ll be able to identify later who the intruder was and report them!

These two are definitely the best outdoor security cameras I could get my hands on at such a competitive price point!

Solo IndoorCam P24

While this is a solution to all your outdoor security concerns, lets hop into indoor security needs for when you have a child who’s alone at home or a pet that you constantly want to check up on! For my indoor surveillance needs, I use a Eufy Solo IndoorCam P24! This wireless security indoor camera features a 2K (1080p) resolution while connected to a HomeBase which then acts as a WI-FI repeater and boosts signals for maximum clarity. If not connected to a HomeBase, the camera can operate as a standalone device, but its video quality won’t be the best.

The best part about this camera is that it comes with an inbuilt AI. This AI enables the camera to distinguish between a pet, human, and object. It also does a great job at detecting a suspicious activity and once it detects something fishy, it automatically starts to record and sends an alert to your phone wherever you are. The awesomeness doesn’t stop here though! In order to capture every inch of the room after catching something suspicious, the camera pans its lens 360 degrees horizontally or tilts it as much as 96 degrees vertically to cover the whole room.

EufyCam Solar Panel Charger

While we’re talking about cameras, might as well hit the topic of how to charge them! For my EufyCam 2 Pro, I swear by the EufyCam Solar Panel Charger. It’s important for me to mention here that there are many other options for solar powered chargers available in the market. However, the only solar powered charger that’s certified for Eufy cameras is the EufyCam Solar Panel Charger as it ensures correct power management and consequently, doesn’t damage the camera’s battery. It also boasts an IP65 weatherproof rating which, as mentioned previously, makes the charger weatherproof.

Apart from this, the EufyCam Solar Panel Charger was pretty simple for me to install! It comes with a 4m cable which gave me a lot of flexibility to install the charger at a distance from my EufyCam 2 Pro where the sunlight was maximum.

Additionally, this charger comes with a 360-degree rotatable mounting bracket. This means you can rotate your charge in the sunlight’s direction for it to capture maximum energy! These features work in combination with the 2.6W high-efficiency solar panels of the charger and gets your camera fully charged in a matter of few hours.

Eufy Video Doorbell 2K (Wired) & Video Doorbell 2K (Wired) Chime

Apart from these cameras, other products in the Eufy Home Security Range that I have installed in my home are the Eufy Video Doorbell 2K (Wired) and the Video Doorbell 2K (Wired) Chime.

This Eufy wired doorbell is a great addition to your home security collectables if you’re someone who would like to know who rang that doorbell from your couch! Won’t it be great to just pick up your phone, open the Eufy app, and not just see who’s on the door but also interact with them in real-time through the two-way audio feature!

Though on a serious note, leaving aside the fun part, this Eufy Video Doorbell 2K (Wired) has played a primary role in keeping me and my family safe during the pandemic by minimizing our physical interaction with outsiders.

This Eufy Video Doorbell 2K (Wired) features a 2K resolution like the cameras mentioned above, but it doesn’t stop here! It combines this 1080p resolution with an advanced HDR (High Dynamic Range) and distortion correction. These features work collectively to improve the video quality 2x and takes the video clarity experience to a whole new level!

Moreover, this Eufy Video Doorbell 2K (Wired) comes with a sophisticated AI technology packed into it which enables it to distinguish between humans and animals with high precision! Therefore, you won’t be receiving alerts on your phone if a stray cat decides to show up at your door. Also, what got me more excited about purchasing this doorbell was that it comes with a free Video Doorbell 2K (Wired) Chime! Who doesn’t like free stuff anyways? However, you can also purchase it separately here if you need an extra one to cover more areas in your house.

It is important to note that the Video Doorbell 2K (Wired) Chime does not work with the Eufy battery video doorbell. It is only compatible with Eufy Video Doorbell 2K (Wired) and connects to it through the existing doorbell wires at 16-24 Volts AC power. This chime comes with 8 fun holiday ringtones and allows you to choose your preferred volume from 3 levels!

Eufy 5-Piece Home Alarm Kit & Entry Sensor

Apart from the home security products mentioned above, I added the Eufy 5-piece home alarm kit to fill the gaps in my Eufy home security ecosystem.

Adding a home alarm system to my house seemed paramount because Eufy cameras are not theft safe. This means that they can be stolen by a professional thief who can then easily make way inside the house. Therefore, the Eufy 5-piece home alarm kit acts as a 2nd line of defence for my home and I couldn’t be happier with it.

This 5-piece alarm kit comes with a keypad, motion sensor, two entry sensors, and a HomeBase. You need a HomeBase for this alarm kit because it acts as a brain of the whole operation and ties all the other four components together for them to function harmoniously. If anytime later you decide to add additional sensors to your alarm kit or a Eufy camera for additional security, they’ll be connected to this same HomeBase. It stores the camera’s video footage and keeps the recorded data safe with a 256-bit encryption technology.

The entry sensors come with a strong adhesive backing which makes the installation super convenient. You just have to peel the sticker and put these sensors anywhere that suits you – doors, windows, drawers, etc. You’ll get two of these with the alarm kit, but if you have more areas to cover, you can always purchase more of these here. Once you install these Eufy entry sensors, forget worrying about their batteries for 2 years! Also, their 100-DECIBEL siren is as loud as a jackhammer. If they detect something suspicious and you’re away from home, the siren will scare the burglar away in fear of alerting the neighbourhood.

Lastly, the motion sensor that comes with the Eufy 5-piece home alarm kit has an adhesive backing similar to the entry sensors. However, its important to install the motion sensor high up on your wall because it covers up to 100 degrees around and 30 feet into the room. This’ll ensure that it covers maximum ground! Moreover, pet owners can customize the sensitivity of this motion sensor so that it doesn’t get activated every time your pet roams in the area where its installed.

Eufy Security Smart-Lock with Wi-Fi Bridge

This Eufy Security Smart-Lock has made my life easier than ever, and I am not exaggerating! I don’t have to worry anymore about whether the door is locked or not, and all I need is my phone to unlock it no matter where I am.

The best feature of the Eufy Security Smart-Lock is that its built to last! It has passed the BHMA Grade 2 certification. This means that it was locked and unlocked 250,000 times and it still performed perfectly without breaking down. Therefore, it can withstand the incomings and outgoings of a busy household without breaking down for a long time! Also, it can withstand temperatures as low as -22°F and as high as 158°F so withstanding harsh weather conditions is its strong suit.

Another feature of the Eufy Security Smart-Lock that works great for me is automatic locking technology. Whenever I’m in a hurry or if my hands are full while entering or leaving my house, its built-in sensor automatically senses the door being closed and locks it right there and then.

Moreover, this smart lock also boasts a Wi-Fi bridge feature which means you can unlock it with the Eufy security app no matter how far away you are from home. This particular feature comes in handy when you’re at work and have to let your cleaner or kids in or even a friend who has to hurriedly pick up something from your home.

However, if something happens and there’s a glitch in the Wi-Fi bridge, you can unlock your Eufy Security Smart-Lock through Bluetooth, its electronic touchscreen key pad, or the key that comes with it at the time of purchase. Moreover, it also has a micro-USB port which you can connect to a portable charger and use to unlock your smart lock when there’s an emergency and its out of power.

Eufy Vs Other Home Security Brands

Let’s have a look at how Eufy stacks up against its major competitors in the home security market:

Eufy Vs Ring

Ring’s home security products give Eufy a huge competition and this often gets buyers confused. They can never decide which brand to go for! Well, here’s the breakdown for you guys:

While Eufy and Ring both sell promising home security products with no compromise on quality, ring does a much higher damage to the pocket! The starting equipment price for Eufy is $159 while that for Ring is $199. Moreover, if you invest in Eufy’s products, you’ll have to incur a one-time cost since their products must be self-monitored! There are no hidden subscription charges.

In addition to this, Eufy is much safer compared to Ring. This is because Eufy opts for the local storage option, rather than cloud storage like Ring does, in all its home security devices which is protected by the 256-bit encryption technology. This makes data like video recordings much less susceptible to hackers compared to when its stored on cloud.

On the other hand, for Ring products, you must pay a mandatory subscription free of $10 monthly for their professional monitoring services!

Therefore, Eufy’s home security products are a great buy if you’re on a budget, willing to opt for self-monitoring, and don’t want to pay any mandatory subscription charges.

Eufy Vs SimpliSafe

While SimpliSafe is a very well-known brand for home security products, it really does put that deep dent on your pocket! The starting equipment price is a whopping $229 with mandatory monthly monitoring charges of $14.99. That’s some damage right there!

But with high price comes great quality, so we can’t deny that. SimpliSafe does offer great quality home security products if you’re willing to invest.

However, the real low blow here is that unlike Eufy and Ring, SimpliSafe puts a price tag on its mobile app. This means that if you opt for their standard plan, you won’t be able to remotely control your home security system. For this, you’ll have to pay a heftier price and opt for their interactive monitoring plan.

Is Eufy Pocket-friendly?

The company itself claims that they’ve designed their home security products to be light on their customers’ pockets. With this being said, Eufy offers great quality products for a very competent price and there are no mandatory hidden subscription charges for any of their home security products! You’ll have to pay extra only if you willingly opt for one of their upgraded storage plans.

Eufy Customer Service

Eufy’s customer service is based in US and their phone lines are operational from 6:15 am to 5 pm PST. Their customer support services are quite satisfactory! You can either reach them at the customer support line which is +1 (800) 988 – 7973 or contact them via email at support@eufylife.com.

Eufy’s Refund and Warranty Policy

Eufy offers a 30-day refund policy for all its home security products. If you aren’t satisfied enough with your purchase, you can return the equipment and get a complete refund. However, make sure that you don’t throw away the original packaging and make the refund claim within 30 days of initial purchase.
